Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 17C 5G globally, debuting first in Singapore on August 25, 2026, at a price of S$279, roughly $220. The company has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for Pakistan or any other market beyond Singapore.
The Redmi 17C 5G is a separate device from the Redmi 17C already sold in Pakistan, which is a 4G-only model priced at Rs. 31,999 and built around a different chipset. Buyers should not confuse the two when looking for the new 5G version.
The phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with Android 16 under Xiaomi's HyperOS 3 interface. It features a 6.9-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution, along with a 6,000mAh battery supporting 33W wired charging.
Camera and Design
On the imaging side, the Redmi 17C 5G comes with a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, both capable of recording video at up to 1080p and 30 frames per second. The phone carries an IP64 rating for basic dust and splash resistance.
The device measures 171.56 x 79.47 x 8.05mm and weighs 211 grams. It includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-SIM support, NFC and Bluetooth 5.4. In Singapore, the phone is available in Black, Purple and a vegan-leather Brown finish.
Will It Come to Pakistan?
Xiaomi has a mixed track record with its Redmi C-series 5G phones in Pakistan. In some previous generations, the local market received only the 4G version of a device while the 5G variant stayed limited to select regions. That pattern makes it unclear whether the Redmi 17C 5G will officially reach Pakistan at all, or whether the country will continue to see 4G-only C-series models instead.
Earlier pre-launch estimates, based on leaked benchmark listings before the phone's specifications were finalized, suggested a possible local price range roughly between Rs. 44,999 and Rs. 58,999 depending on memory configuration. These figures were speculative at the time and have not been confirmed by Xiaomi, and they should not be treated as an official price.
Buyers in Pakistan interested in the Redmi 17C 5G should wait for an official announcement from Xiaomi Pakistan or its authorised retailers before expecting a confirmed launch date or price.
